Mountain of Literature Festival
The Mountain of Literature Festival is a holiday event in the Kłodzko Valley, which was initiated in 2015 by Olga Tokarczuk. Every year the event grows more and more, including not only lectures and meetings with invited guests, but also workshops, concerts or exhibitions. This year's edition includes as many as 23 locations, 230 guests and over 150 events. There is definitely something to look forward to!
International Folklore Festival
The International Folklore Festival is an event organized on an incredible scale — it is its 27th edition! In addition to local bands, groups from Slovakia, Ukraine and even such distant places as Mexico, Senegal and India have the opportunity to present themselves on the festival stages. It lasts 10 days and takes place in several different towns, including Polanica-Zdrój.
Lavender Festival
The calendar of events for the summer would not be full without the Lavender Festival. It takes place at the end of June in Woliborz, in the House near the Lawendy Field. As part of the event, animations, inflators and joint games are prepared for children, while the elders can take part in workshops or take advantage of the offer of stands on the trails. There is also a possibility of a photo session in lavender and fun together with music.
International Chopin Festival in Dusznikak-Zdrój
What else is worth considering when it comes to summer events? Duszniki-Zdrój in August turn into a real paradise for music lovers. The Chopin Festival, which then takes place there, is a unique meeting of the best pianists from all over the world and admirers of classical music. The most beautiful works of Chopin and other important composers resonate at that time. Moreover, since 2001, the festival in Duszniki has been accompanied by other events. Summer in the city is also the time of National Master Classes, in which six outstanding Polish young pianists take part.
International Moniuszko Festival in Kudowa-Zdrój
What else awaits us in the summer? Events in the Kłodzka Basin are also the Moniuszko Festival held for over 60 years in Kudowa-Zdrój. This is a huge, multi-day event that gathers both visitors and locals. It hosts numerous concerts and recitals, and the whole takes place in several different locations — including the Concert Hall in the Pump Room and the Zdrojowy Theatre. Those willing can also take part in meetings with invited guests. The event is additionally accompanied by a colorful Moniusz pageant, in which people dressed up in period costumes take part. Ladies in voluminous dresses, hidden under umbrellas, or gentlemen in coats and cylinders walking through the streets of Kudowa are definitely impressive! Summer in Zieleniec
Holiday events in Zieleniec also do not let you get bored! Although local events are not always held periodically, they are a great opportunity to get to know the culture and history of the region more closely.
