How to get to the observation tower in Suszyn?
Suszyna is a tiny village located in the south-eastern area of the Ścinawskie Hills, in the commune of Radków. It is located about 20 minutes by car from Kłodzko and 15 minutes from Wambierzyce or Radków. The Suszynka Tower, which is one of its most important attractions, was built in a well-connected place, not far from the main road and in the central part of the village. This location makes it clearly visible and easy to reach despite the lack of markings. What's more, there is a parking lot about 150 metres away. This is a great convenience for people who cannot afford to hike, but want to see what views the observation tower can offer. Suszyna, apart from this attraction, also gives you the opportunity to see the Stone Museum, where specimens found in the village are presented. How much does an observation tower cost?
The lack of tickets and fees means that the entrance to the Suszynka tower costs “only” to overcome 140 stairs leading to the observation deck. Thanks to the proximity of the parking lot, you do not have to additionally climb the hill, which is a big advantage for many hunters of wonderful views.
However, it is worth knowing that the observation tower located in Suszyna does not have facilities for disabled people or parents with children in strollers, which must be taken into account when organizing your trip.
How tall is the observation tower in Suszyn?
The Suszyn Tower is 27 meters high. Although the hill on which it is located measures “only” 469 m above sea level, it is positioned so that it makes an excellent vantage point. Located on the 22nd meter, the viewing platform allows you to admire not only Ścinawskie Hills, but also remote mountain ranges.
Also noteworthy is what Drynka looks like. This tower has little in common with typical structures, resembling in its shape a medieval watchtower rather than a vantage point. It has an enclosed structure on a square plan, and is bounded on all sides by walls lined with white-yellowish sandstone. Additionally, it was covered with a hipped roof. Plaques were placed on the platform, where mountain ranges and peaks located far beyond the village of Suszyna were marked on the horizon. The observation tower, thanks to its location, gives truly amazing opportunities to admire the area.
What can be seen from the Suszynka observation tower?
The location of the Suszynka tower makes it possible to see a wide panorama of the Kłodzko Basin, and therefore a large part of the Central Sudetenland. The platform on it allows you to see, among others , the Table Mountains, including Szczeliniec Wielki , Bardzkie Mountains, Orlickie Mountains , Sowie and Golden Mountains, as well as the Śnieżnik Massif, and St. Anne Mountain.
