Who built the fortress in Silver Mountain?

The fortress in Srebrna Góra was established during the rule of Prussia for military security of Silesia conquered in 1740. The author of its original design was the engineer Ludwik Wilhelm Regler, while modifications were introduced by the then king of Prussia — Frederick II the Great himself. The building was erected on two adjacent hills lying above the Silver Pass — Fortreczna Góra (686 m above sea level) and Ostrog (627 m above sea level), from where the whole area was perfectly visible. This also, combined with the modern design for that time, contributed to the success that Silver Mountain Fortress achieved in the field of defense. More than 4,000 workers were involved in its construction, and the work itself lasted 12 years.
