Where is the Kłodzka Basin?

The Kłodzka Basin lies in the Central Sudetenland and is part of the historical land called the land of Kłodzko. These areas are very attractive in terms of tourism, which is due not only to the picturesque location in the midst of the mountains, but also to the rich history, in which variable territorial belonging was intertwined — these lands passed from hand to hand, lying not only within the borders of Poland, but also, at certain times, the Czech Republic and Prussia. The central city of the region is less than 100 kilometres away from Wrocław, which is one of the pillars of the tourist in the Kłodzko Valley.

Kłodzka Valley — tours with children

In the Kłodzko Valley and excursions with children can be successful! Where to go so that the younger and older have a good time? It is worth visiting the Miniatures Park Minieuroland in Kłodzko, where there are more than 40 models of the most important monuments from the area and famous buildings from around the world, including, for example, a mini copy of the leaning tower in Ząbkowice Śląskie, the reduced Statue of Liberty, or the Paris Arc de Triomphe.

An interesting proposal is also the Museum of the Earth — Geological Kletno, so when planning excursions in the Kłodzko Basin, it is worth including it on the list of places to visit. Here you can see, among other things, fossilized nests with dinosaur eggs, teeth and paw prints of these huge reptiles, or the largest fossil marine molluscs in the world. The Jurassic Park is also part of the museum, where dinosaur models were placed and shown what primordial people looked like.

What other trips to go on in the Kłodzko Valley while having children? A very interesting proposal is the Złoty Stok mine. The power of attractions awaits everyone, and extensive sightseeing options allow you to choose the route of the trip optimal for the age and cognitive capabilities of the child. There are, among others, an adit, a medieval mining settlement and the gold mine itself, where you can also participate in boat crossing or gold flushing.

Kłodzka Valley — what to see: proposals for active people

The Kłodzka Basin, thanks to its surroundings, is a real paradise for those who like hiking and cycling. One of its biggest natural attractions are the Table Mountains and Szczeliniec Wielki, which is the highest point in Poland. When planning to visit the Kłodzko Basin, you can also place the Vicious Rocks with very interesting rock forms in the tour plan.

Winter tours in the Kłodzka Basin

Tourism in the Kłodzko Valley and its surroundings is also good in winter, which is an attractive place to go with children during the holidays. During this period, many ski resorts operate, which, thanks to their specific microclimate, offer excellent conditions for winter sports. Apart from traditional slopes designed for snowboarding and downhill skiing, there are also cross-country trails. You can also take advantage of numerous ice rinks, which are run periodically in selected towns.

During winter trips in the Kłodzko Basin, it is worth visiting Zieleniec Ski — Poland's largest ski resort, as well as other, slightly smaller lifts — the Lądek-Zdrój lift, the Osmelakowa Dolina lift in Spalona, or the Czarna Góra Resort mountain resort.
