Where is Leśna Skała Castle?
Leśna Skała Castle lies in Szczytna (Kłodzko County). Its body was integrated into the rocks of Szczytnik (589 m above sea level), which is the culmination of one of the elevations in the south-eastern part of the Table Mountains. As it clearly towers over the area, it offers interesting views of it.
The property is best reached from the centre of Szczytna. Leśna Skała Castle is located at the end of Zamkowa Street, and under its gate there is free parking for visitors. The residence can also be reached on foot, leaving the car at the foot of Szczytnik. Such a walk takes about 25 minutes.

Leśna Skała Castle — basic information
Forest Rock Castle was built at the beginning of the 19th century by order of Count Leopold von Hochberg. Maintained in the neo-Gothic style, however, it resembles not so much the richly decorated magnate mansions typical for that period, as of a medieval fortified stronghold — this is what it was supposed to be styled for. Unfortunately, shortly after the completion of the construction, the count died, and the castle of Leśna Skała in Szczytna began to pass from hand to hand. As was often the case, also in this case, each new owner made his own modifications to the body of the building, adapting it to his needs. The last owners of the estate was the Religious House of Missionaries of the Holy Family, and it is currently managed by the Forest Skała Castle Foundation. Visiting the facility is now possible precisely thanks to their efforts.
What does visiting Leśna Skała castle look like?
Forest Rock Castle as a tourist attraction has been available only recently. Sightseeing is carried out with a guide and only on certain days. For this reason, if you want to see this place, it is worth checking before the planned visit when and at what times the facility is available for tourists. Night sightseeing is also available during the summer. It is accompanied by a light show, which is further enlivened by the castle Leśna Skała. The price of entrance tickets to the property varies, and the cost of entry depends, among other things, on the age of the tour participants. Visiting the residence lasts about 45-60 minutes.
What is worth seeing in Leśna Skała Castle?
The Forest Skała Castle in Szczytna is a monumental building with an inner courtyard. When visiting it, it is worth paying attention first of all to:
- Chapel of Our Lady Queen of Peace with beautiful stained glass windows and a neo-Gothic altar with the image of the Virgin Mary and Child and the figures of patron saints of the founders of the chapel — Helena and Bruno.
- The castle crypts — are partially located under the chapel and are the resting place of people associated with Helena and Bruno Klein — the owners of the castle and founders of the chapel.
- A stone gate with a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, who was a patron saint protecting against flooding and other natural disasters.
- The park is located in the surroundings of the Leśna Skała complex — the castle is located in a beautiful park with an area of about 3 ha. It is an ideal place for walking and relaxing in nature.
- Viewpoint — not far from the castle there is a viewing platform from which you can admire Szczytna and the surrounding area.
- Cafe — there is also a café in the castle where you can have coffee or have a cake.
